Perinatal Services
Permits CMS certified hospitals to participate in an umbilical cord blood collection program. Requires these hospitals to create a plan for this program that addresses items such as obtaining informed consent, maintaining links between the donor’s medical record and banked blood cord unit, and ensuring the confidentiality of all records. Requires hospitals to submit data to the Department of Public Health and Environment upon the Department’s request.
