Penalty-Failure to report - R.I. Gen. Laws Ann. § 23-17.8-3

Persons that fail to fulfill their duty to report the suspected abuse or neglect of health care facility patients are guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum fine of $500. Persons that, without authorization, alter or destroy a report of abuse or neglect are guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum fine of $500. Persons that attempt to prevent another person from reporting abuse or neglect are guilty of a misdemeanor and face a maximum $1,000 fine and/ or a year imprisonment. Persons in a high management position at a facility that fail to report suspected abuse or neglect are guilty of a misdemeanor and face a maximum $1,000 fine and/ or a year imprisonment.
