Within seven (7) days of a patient’s confirmed positive HIV test, the health care provider must report the confirmed positive test to the local health officer. The reporting of test results to the local health officer must be done either in person or through U.P.S. or registered mail, and cannot be done through electronic means, fax or other type of mailing. The information contained in the report is confidential and may be disclosed as it relates to this section or by written consent of the patient or authorized representative.
