The law authorizes the Oregon Health Authority to establish a statewide database for the collection of information on Types I and II diabetes occurring in children. The database is used to collect information regarding juvenile diabetes as well as to make data available for scientific and medical research. The Oregon Health Authority must allow confidential data that is collected to be used by third parties for research and studies for the public good.
