All residents in a nursing facility have the following rights:

1. To be fully informed of one’s health and medical status;
2. To be fully informed of the right to choose one’s own physician;
3. To be fully informed in advance of any changes in care or treatment;
4. To refuse services, treatment or medication;
5. To have clinical and medical records be kept confidential;
6. To promptly inspect all records pertaining to the resident;
7. To purchase photocopies of records pertaining to the resident.
