Each patient of a home health agency has a number of rights, including the following:
- To be informed, in advance, about the care to be furnished, any changes in the care to be furnished, the disciplines that will furnish care, and the frequency of visits proposed to be furnished;
- To participate in the planning of care;
- To have clinical records confidentially maintained by the agency;
Each agency must maintain written policies and procedures, applicable to any adult patient, providing for documenting in the patient’s record whether the patient has executed an advance directive.
