The Oregon Health Authority’s Public Health Division may conduct special studies of cancer mortality and morbidity, and is authorized to obtain any information in a patient’s medical record which applies to a patient’s cancer. The practitioner or health care facility that maintains the patient’s records must provide the requested information to the central cancer registry or provide the central cancer registry personnel access to the relevant portions of the medical records.
