All cancer reporting facilities must report to the central cancer registry each case and required data items of reportable cancer in patients admitted for diagnoses and/or any part of the first course of therapy for that cancer within 180 days of the date the case first receives diagnostic or treatment services at the facility. Cancer reporting facilities with an active follow-up program will annually report vital status, date of last patient contact, and, if available, cancer status to the registry.
