Providers participating in the Family Planning Expansion Program must agree to provide contraceptive management services according to the following standards:
- Obtain voluntary informed consent from the client to participate in and consent to receive services;
- Assure the confidentiality of the client’s medical records;
- Release the client’s medical records only with their written consent, except as may otherwise be required or permitted by law
- Provide all services, support and other assistance in a manner that is responsive to the beliefs, language and behaviors of the individuals who are receiving services by employing bilingual or bicultural staff, personnel or volunteers skilled or certified in the provision of medical and clinical interpretation during all clinic encounters with clients who need this level of assistance;
- Provide interpretation services to the clients needing or requesting such assistance at no cost;
- Report STI’s as required to appropriate public health agencies for contact management, prevention and control; and
- Document all services provided in the client’s medical record.
