Nurse's aides: Commissioner to enter finding of improper conduct on the registry; petition for removal of finding - Conn. Gen. Stat. § 20-102cc
This will open in a new window
The Department of Public Health will investigate and prosecute allegations that a nurse’s aide, working within a nursing or rest home, has neglected or abused a resident, misappropriated the resident’s property, or fraudulently obtained their registration as a nurse’s aide. Nurse’s aides must have an opportunity to appeal a complaint within 30 days of receiving mailed notice of the allegations. The Commissioner of Public Health must issue a finding and enter the finding on the nurse’s aides registry.
Nurse’s aides may petition to have a finding removed from the registry if (1) the complaint arose after January 1, 1995; (2) they do not have a history of resident abuse or neglect; and (3) the complaint pertained to single occurrence of abuse or neglect. The Commissioner may not respond to this petition until the finding has been on the registry for at least one year.
