Ambulatory surgical centers must comply with the patients’ bill of rights, which must be posted in a public area. They must consider all patients to be competent and capable of making their own health care decisions unless a patient has a guardian appointed by a court, has a durable power of attorney for health care, or is a minor.
Ambulatory surgical centers must develop policies regarding the release of information contained in patient records. They must provide a patient or the patient’s representative with a copy of his patient record.
Ambulatory surgical centers must monitor the quality of care and service provided to patients on an ongoing basis. Ambulatory surgical centers must post all inspection reports, evacuation floor plans, and complete procedures in a public area.
Ambulatory surgical centers must report all adverse events.
