“Notice of client an applicant rights under the division of mental health and developmental services regulations”
State mental health facilities must inform clients or their parents or legal representatives of their rights and understandable language orally and in writing. Each facility must document notifications of client rights in clients’ records. The notification of rights must include the following:
- Applicants for services must be informed that their rights to the valuations of access to treatment;
- Clients must be advised their rights upon admission into a facility, upon transfer to another facility, and at least once a year after admission;
- State mental health facilities must post a notice of rights in a public area.
