All health maintenance organization run health plans must submit patient satisfaction surveys to the Department of Health and Senior Services. All Medicare health care plans must also submit satisfaction surveys that are conducted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. HMO plans are also required to submit to the Department quality indicator data based on HEDIS guidelines. Health plans must submit separate quality indicator data for commercial, Medicare and Medicaid enrollees. The required information must be submitted to the Department electronically.
