Medical, osteopathic, and podiatry boards; disclosure of information to public
The Medical Board of California can release the following information about a licensed physician to the public, upon request:
- Issuance of a temporary restraining order;
- Suspension orders;
- Revocations or suspensions of license;
- Public letters of reprimand;
- Infractions, citations or fines imposed;
- Civil judgments in any amount;
- All settlements in the low-risk category if a physician has had three or more settlements in the last ten years, subject to several stipulations. The Board may not disclose the actual settlement amount.
- Approved postgraduate training;
- Status of license;
- Summaries of disciplinary actions where the physician’s privileges have been terminated or revoked;
- Information about felony convictions.
