Mass. Gen. Laws. Ann. ch. 111, § 191 - Reports of lead poisoning; notifications to agencies; records
This will open in a new window
A physician, nurse, hospital, health center, or other diagnosing agency must report each case of lead poisoning (not previously reported) to the Director of the Department of Public Health. When the Director receives a report of a case of lead poisoning, he must alert all local boards of health, public health agencies, and other entities deemed necessary. In alerting the other agencies, the Director cannot identify the individual patient with lead poisoning unless it is determined that inclusion of the patient’s name is necessary for that individual’s health or well being. The Director must maintain a complete record of all lead poisoning reports received, and be made public record.
