The Department of Health Services must implement a system to monitor and evaluate the quality of care given to Medicaid beneficiaries, including access to services, through a Management Information System/Decision Support System (MIS/DSS). The Department must present to the relevant committees of the Legislature, the most cost effective technology available for the MIS/DSS system.
Also requires the Department to provide system or information access to the fiscal and health policy committees of the Legislature. Access must include both the management information system and ad hoc report systems, or their equivalent, with safeguards to block access to individual patient identities.
