Any entity that seeks to indemnify the professional liability of any person holding a valid certificate to practice medicine must notify to the state board of medicine within thirty days after the final disposition of any written claim for damages where such disposition results in a payment exceeding $25,000. The notification must include the name and address of the insured who is the subject of the claim and the name of the person filing the written claim. The timely filing of a national practitioner data bank medical malpractice payment report by the insurer with the board will satisfy this reporting requirement.
