This law states that the state department of health requires that every birth/stillbirth certificate’s confidential portion retained by the department include the following information (in addition to other information usually included):

Whether an HIV test was performed on the mother
- If an HIV test was performed, the date the blood specimen was taken and whether the test was performed during pregnancy or at time of delivery
- If an HIV test was not performed, the reason why
