Ind. Code Ann. § 16-41-3-1- Rules for compilation of statistical data for purposes of preventing spread of disease

This law allows the state department of health to adopt rules with respect to compiling data for statistical purposes with the purpose of preventing spread of dangerous communicable diseases or unnatural outbreaks of diseases that are suspected to be weapons. The law further allows the state department of health to adopt procedures to gather, monitor and compile case reports of such incidents, and allows the state department of health to conduct medical surveillance of confirmed or suspected cases as set forth by the relevant federal agencies.
The law requires that the state department of health notify the department of homeland security, Indiana state police, county health department and local law enforcement agency within 24 hours of receiving such a report.
