“Executive branch agency-specific exemptions from inspection or copying of public records under the public officers, employees, and records law”
All personal identifying information contained in health records held by the Department of Health is confidential and may only be disclosed:
- With the written consent of the individual or the individual’s representative;
- In a medical emergency, but only to the extent to protect the health or life of the individual;
- Pursuant to a court order; or
- To a health research entity that maintains records or data in accordance with approved protocol, including having a plan to destroy confidential records after the research is concluded.
