“Prohibiting discrimination against individual participants and beneficiaries based on health status under the insurance law”
A group health insurance policy may not base its rules for eligibility on the following health status related factors:
- Health status;
- Medical condition;
- Claims experience;
- Receipt of health care;
- Medical history;
- Genetic information;
- Evidence of insurability, including conditions arising out of acts of domestic violence; and
- Disability.
