“Patient records; termination of osteopathic physician’s practice under the regulation of professions and occupations law”
The Board of Osteopathic Medicine is responsible for regulating the handling of medical records for osteopathic physicians. The rules must address the way patients are notified when an osteopathic physician sells or terminates his practice and provide the patient an opportunity for the patient to request the records to the patient or another physician upon payment of actual costs for the transfer.
