“Psychotherapist-patient privilege”
Communications between a psychotherapist and patient is confidential and privileged. The term “psychotherapist” is defined as a licensed medical professional, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, or mental health counselor, treatment personnel of mental health facilities, or an advance registered nurse practitioner who is engaged in the diagnosis or treatment of a mental or emotional condition, including substance abuse disorders.
