“Grounds for discipline; penalties; enforcement under the regulation of professions and occupations law”
Health care professionals may face disciplinary sanctions for a variety of grounds including:
- Making misleading, deceptive or fraudulent representations in the practice of the health care professional’s profession;
- Making or filing a false report or failing to file a report required by state or federal law;
- Improperly interfering with an investigation or inspection authorized by law;
- Failing to provide patients with information about their patient rights and how to file a complaint;
- Being unable to practice because of illness or substance use; and
- Medical malpractice.
