“Rules; evaluation and deficiencies; licensure status under the public health law”
The Agency for Health Care Administration must evaluate all nursing homes every 15 months to determine whether they are complying with legal requirements. Prior to conducting a survey of a nursing home, the survey team must obtain a copy of the local long-term care ombudsman council report on the facility. Problems noted in the report must be incorporated into and followed up through the agency’s inspection process. The agency must impose administrative fines for any deficiencies found and require nursing homes to correct the deficiencies.
