“Clinical records under the public health law”
A birth center’s clinical records must contain the following information: patient identifying information; risk assessments; information relating to prenatal visits; information relating to the course of labor and intrapartum care; information relating to consultation, referral, and transport to a hospital; newborn assessment, APGAR score, treatments as required, and followup; and postpartum followup.
Clinical records must be kept confidential and may only be disclosed to a third party with a patient’s consent or for the review by the Agency for Health Care Administration for a licensure survey or complaint investigation.
