“Disciplinary guidelines under the Department of Health regulations”
The Board of Medicine may discipline and fine a physician assistant for a variety of grounds including:
- Attempting to obtain a license by bribery or fraud;
- Filing a false report or failing to file a report as required;
- Failure to report another health care professional who violated the law or board rule;
- Failure to perform legal obligations;
- Engaging in sexual misconduct;
- Failure to keep written medical records;
- Performing professional services not authorized by a patient;
- Inappropriate or excessive prescribing; and
- Inability to practice medicine with skill and safety or engaging in malpractice.
