“Administration of the hospice under the Department of Elder Affairs regulations”
Each hospice must establish policies and procedures for a variety of matters including:
- Administering experimental drugs only with the written consent of the patient or the patient’s legal representative, surrogate, or proxy;
- Maintaining and retaining clinical records for a minimum 5 year period following the patient’s death in a confidential manner; and
- Annually reporting demographic information and performance outcome measures to the Department of Elder Affairs.
