Missouri has set forth the requirements for eligible providers to receive incentive payments for the meaningful use of electronic health records (EHRs) as set forth in the federal HITECH Act. In order to be an eligible provider, the provider must be a physician, dentist, certified nurse midwife, nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant, acute care hospital, or children’s hospital, with a specific percentage of the patient volume constituting Medicaid patients. Providers must retain records that support their eligibility to receive the incentives for six years.
