Department of public health and environment - powers and duties - immunization tracking system - definitions
Authorizes the Department of Public Health and Environment to take certain actions as a means of increasing immunization access and expanding the immunization registry (e.g., seeking federal funding for vaccines, establishing partnerships with the private sector to fund the immunization registry, etc). Directs the Department to create a stakeholder task force to guide these efforts. Requires the Department to establish an immunization tracking system to house immunization data collected from health care providers, schools, parents, hospitals, and insurers. Classifies immunization tracking system records as confidential and prohibits disclosure, subpoena, or admission into evidence. Establishes exceptions to this prohibition on disclosure (e.g., disclosure for treatment purposes, disclosure to the person who is the subject of the record, etc.).
