Del. Code Ann. tit. 16, § 203 - Congenital Disabilities Surveillance and Registry Program

The Department of Health and Social Services must establish the Congenital Disabilities Surveillance and Registry Program to document every diagnosis or treatment of any congenital disability in any child under 5 years old. Physicians, surgeons, dentists, podiatrists, or other health care practitioners must report to the registry within 30 days of initial diagnosis or treatment. The information reported to the registry must be used to identify risk factors for congenital disabilities; to investigate the causes and prevalence of congenital disabilities; to develop preventive strategies to decrease occurrences of congenital disabilities; to analyze incidences, prevalence and trends of congenital disabilities through epidemiological studies; or to investigate the morbidity and mortality rates resulting from congenital disabilities.
