The Department of Health and Social Services’ Division of Public Health must keep all information of STDs, including HIV/AIDS, strictly confidential. The information may only be made public upon court subpoena if there is a compelling need for the records and the subject of the records is given a pseudonym to protect his or her privacy. The information may be disclosed for medical research.
