The statute governing the confidentiality of abuse treatment information applies to all records furnished to the Addiction Prevention and Recovery Administration (government agency responsible for providing and regulating substance abuse treatment services)—these records are confidential and may only be disclosed according to the statute.
A client may consent in writing to disclosure of information related to their substance abuse treatment.
Substance abuse treatment records may be disclosed without consent only to medical personnel for purposes of diagnosis and treatment.
