Confidentiality - Me. Rev. Stat. tit. 32, § 1092-A

Patients have the privilege to refuse to disclose, and to prevent others from disclosing, confidential communications made for the purpose of diagnosis or treatment of the patient's physical, mental or emotional conditions, including alcohol or drug addiction, among the patient, the patient's dentist and persons who are participating in the diagnosis or treatment under the direction of the dentist, including members of the patient's family.  There are exceptions for release under a court order and if the Chief Medical Examiner requests records for use in identifying the deceased.
