Pharmacies may refill prescriptions that were originally dispensed at an affiliated pharmacy upon verifying the refill through a centralized database.
Health maintenance organization (HMO) operated clinic pharmacies may refill prescriptions that were originally dispensed by another HMO operated clinic pharmacy upon verifying the refill through a centralized database,
Pharmacies may only disclose prescription information to agents of licensed pharmacies in order to verify a refill, to persons involved in patient care as provided in the Confidentiality of Health Care Communications and Information Act, and to researchers “in accordance with the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects.”
