Case management and collaboration with other health care professionals – Wis. Admin. Code N §8-10

This regulation pertains to advanced practice nurses.  They are required to communicate with patients using modern communication techniques.  Advanced practice nurses must also collaborate with other health professionals, including at least 1 physician, through the use of modern communication.  Such nurses must also assist in the referral of patient records to other health care providers, and notify patients of their rights to have their records referred to other providers.  In facilitating case management and coordination, advanced practice nurses must summarize patient care records.  The advanced practice nurse must work in collaboration with a physician.
