An insurer must provide a clear and conspicuous notice outlining its privacy policies regarding nonpublic personal financial information to customers annually (defined as being within a 12 month period). This obligation does not apply to former customers, or those who have terminated their relationship with the insurer. The annual privacy notice does not apply when an insurer provides nonpublic personal financial information to marketers.
