Patient Rights
Licensed Alabama hospitals must “protect and promote” patient rights. Consequently, hospitals must provide patients with notice of their rights and establish a procedure to swiftly resolve patient grievances. Alabama defines patient rights as including the right to: (1) personal privacy; (2) the confidentiality of their medical records; and (3) access their medical record within a reasonable period of time.
