22 DC ADC § 2022 - Patient Rights

Washington D.C. Hospitals must establish to policies and procedures to protect patient rights. These policies and procedures must include, among other items, the right to (1)  “personal privacy and confidentiality of medical records;” (2) “participate in the development and implementation of a plan of care…;” (3) make informed decisions about their care; and (4) access information from their medical record so long as their attending physician believes that such access will not be harmful.
