“General provisions under the Agency of Human Services regulations”
The Department of Health’s Division of Health Surveillance is responsible for the protection of public health from communicable diseases. The Division must review reports and information concerning disease and institute appropriate control measures to prevent further spread.
Any person or entity required to report incidents of communicable disease must have written policies and procedures in place that ensure confidentiality of the records. Additionally, the Department of Health must establish procedures that ensure the confidentiality of the reports it receives. The Department must meet heightened standards to ensure confidentiality of HIV/AIDS information.
