All hospitals that provide angioplasties must provide patient specific surgery outcome data to the Data Analysis Center (a center contracted out by the Department of Public Health) for each patient who has an angioplasty as defined by the Department of Public Health. Physicians who do angioplasties must be enrolled in and participate in the NCDR National Database of the American College of Cardiology. Hospitals must also develop and implement procedures that ensure the confidentiality of patient specific data submitted to the Data Analysis Center and the NCDR Database.
