On April 14, 2015, the Senate passed legislation to eliminate the Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate formula (SGR). SGR was a mechanism created to restrict spending growth in Medicare Part B. Through the elimination of SGR, cuts will no longer be made in Medicare's physician fees (those cuts would have taken place on April 1). Once the bill is signed into law, it will cement payments for physicians and allow for new and improved methods of payment. Find the PDF here.
