On January 14, 2014, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation released two briefs that provide information on the benefits and value of all-payer claims databases (APCDs). The first brief, The Basics of All-Payer Claims Databases, describes how to build a statewide APCD and the second brief, Realizing the Potential of All-Payer Claims Databases, lays out the framework for creating and growing an APCD. These briefs are intended to educate state leaders and other stakeholders on APCDs and demonstrate ways in which APCDs can enable better health care decisions.
