On April 13, 2015, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) revised and updated the Guide to Privacy and Security of Electronic Health Information. Created to aid providers in the integration of privacy and security into health practices, the guide was last published in 2011. The updates include information regarding cybersecurity and various electronic health record technology features, in addition to clarification on relevant rules of the HIPAA Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rules, among other things.
