After an influx of complaints received regarding health information blocking, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) delivered a report to Congress outlining health information blocking by providers and health IT developers. In the report, ONC identifies the extent of the information blocking, provides means of identifying information blocking and also details appropriate measures that the federal government and private entities can take to deter information blocking.
