ONC Publishes Interopoerability Roadmap Version 1.0

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) posted "Connecting Health and Care for the Nation: A Shared Nationwide Interoperability Roadmap" (Roadmap) in its final version 1.0 on October 6, 2015. The final version has been published in reaction to more than 250 comments posted on the original Roadmap. ONC seeks additional comments on the Roadmap, stating that it is a “living document,” one that will be shaped by public and private sector feedback to update challenges as they present themselves over time. Currently, the Roadmap lists suggested actions and roles for Health IT stakeholders to perform as 2017 approaches. All goals are set in hopes of reaching “a learning health system" in 2024.
