On Tuesday, July 19, 2016, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) posted a blog post in coordination with the Office of Civil Rights at the US Department of Health and Human Services regarding the oversight of health data that is collected by entities not regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
