New Perspective from the Field Interview with Dr. Bruce Siegel

Health Information & the Law interviews Dr. Bruce Siegel, the President and CEO of America’s Essential Hospitals located in Washington, DC, as part of our newest installation to the Perspectives from the Field Interview Series. Dr. Siegel, who was recently named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare, discusses the benefits of health information exchange, especially for hospitals that serve patients whom are often uninsured. He explains that through enhanced exchange of health information, the coordination of care for some of the most vulnerable patients served by America's Essential Hospitals may be improved. Additionally, Dr. Siegel discusses the barriers public hospitals are faced in trying to realize the full potential of health information exchange.
